My step dad and mom worked for Gilmans Dairy in the early 1950's in Medford, Ore
We had glass bottles with card board centers.

Seems those were the invention of the Pogs too at some point in time Interesting story there too I spose.

How many recall the multiple types of milk in bottles one could purchase with
the card board caps. When we lived out
on the Sandy River in the 30's the mice
used to chew through the card board to
get to the milk stored in the hillside
  cooler.

Forgot about those Mugs <G> yes they were in the brown bottle for a reason.
Any one remember what that was with out looking it up?
Soon the deposits were 5 - 10 and 20 cents. We could finally make some real
    change.
My dad was a in lumber, like so many in my lines.
