Keep in mind that Portland streets were renumbered in the 1930's.  Union Ave. is now Martin Luther 
King Jr. Blvd.  They tried to rename Market St. here as MLK St., but people raised so much hell 
about it that they reverted to Market St., and named SR 94 as the MLK freeway.  (SR 94 is a major 
freeway that runs east from down town San Diego.  It is a parking lot during rush hours.)
