If you call what survived surviving.
  It got a little lame for excitements except when I had to much to drink and stood up on the down hill run of the roller coaster yelling * Yahoo* it got exciting for me, I was almost arrested. ;(

   They banned me from the roller coaster, cant imagine why <G>

  Oops, I stand corrected. I left Portland in 1949 and didn't remember Jantzen Beach survived that long

    Jantzen Beach wasn't wiped out with the Vanport complex.  I rode the rollercoaster ca 1965. I don't think the park closed until 1969 or 1970.
