Yes; Rachel Girard and Lorilla all seem to have zero presence in anything I
could find online other than the info you and I already had discovered.

For me that pretty much means it's time to drop it. I guess your next best
bet at this time would be FHC time with local papers from Missouri and
marriage registrys and such to try and track down the where in North
Carolina. I know one of my Wheeler cousins laments the fact that good old
General Sherman made things real hard on her since his march through the
south caused a lot of record losses in burnt courthouses and such. I don't
know if N. Carolina and Virginia represent as much trouble that way as other
places, but I have heard many folks say that anywhere in the South that is a
bigger problem than up north.

I am fortunate that so many of my ancestors spent time in Concord where
keeping records seems to have been sort of an obsession. Now if I could just
find the time and wherewithal to track down dad's people.

I will keep Rachel in mind.
