[or-roots] Roseburg Cemeteries

Glen;

Right off the top of my head I don't know the history of the individual
cemeteries in the area. I note on the intro page that entries with a double
asterisk are "the old Masonic section of Roseburg Memorial" but I checked
and Great Uncle (Milan) Morell Melvin isn't listed there and I have been
told by my late cousin Milan Morell Melvin (nephew, not grandson) that he
was buried there because he had visited the grave, I will have to do some
checking. I do know there are some problems with one of the old cemeteries
in Roseburg, there was a discussion of it in here some months (years?) ago
and it may be our folk are buried in the neglected one.

Hi Les -

Thanks for that information. I will do some checking on the Bonebrake
families
when I get a chance. Do you have any way of knowing if that cemetery was
even
in existence in 1886? Or any way of determining if there were other
cemeteries
in the Roseburg area that old? My grandparents, James Benjamin (Ben) and
Ethel Bailey are buried in Roseburg Memorial. He died in 193 and grandma
died
in 1971. But don't concern yourself with that. I have pictures of their
graves as
well as one of their sons, my uncle, and his wife.

   Thanks again for your help.

    Glen
