|Lane county, I contacted the publisher to ask if I could post 
|the maps online and didn't get a reply.

|The Polk City Directories have nothing to do with Polk County, 
|Oregon! That is the name of the company that has done city 
|directories throughout the United States for years and years. 
|Many of these directories are searchable online now.

|The request for the lookup said the family lived on Fisher 
|Road in Salem. That is definitely in Marion County, not the 
|Polk County part of Salem (West Salem).

|I know that the Salem Public Library has many, many old Salem 
|city directories on their shelves. You might just try sending 
|a request to their reference librarian and ask her to look it 
|up for you. They do that all the time. Go to the Salem Public 
|Library web site (you can find it on Google) and click on 
|reference question - there is a form there to fill out and submit by
