Cliff is north east of Silver Lake a good many miles. It is even north of
the Sand Dunes, which are north and east of Christmas Valley.
The "lake' in Silver Lake is east of the thriving metropolis of Silver
Lake---and is generally dry (the old lake bed is great pasture land
now)....although the other day there was some water in the old lake bed
area. The reason for Silver Lake not having any water is Thompson Reservoir
was built a good many years ago and the water stored there irrigates lots
and lots of acres.
I have not been by the old Cliff area in a very long so do not know if it
is privately owned and irrigated or not. It is out of my general line of
travel. High desert lands. Cold winters and not very hot summers. Short
growing seasons. Beautiful.
We live about 2 hours away. In this area distance is not talked about in
miles---but in time taken from point A to point B.
