Hi Darlene
The Dawes rolls and the subsquent rolls and history of the five civilized tribes would be a good place to check for Eastern Tennessee.
As a note of interest for all and I do not know if all the reservations did this but for the Umatilla and Nez Perce many times not only is the White name givin but also the Native name and I have also found the Birth, Death, Marriage, givin and also the maiden name.

It can't be stressed enough that you search you Indian Ancestry just like you do any other ancestor.  The first thing you need to know is where this family lived and the best way is through census records.
