[or-roots] DLC Maps

Cindy

I find DLC #308, Barger, John and Rebecca, in sections 36 and 36, and as you
said, where southwest Silverton is now. On the 1878 Atlas, the property is
listed with Ai Coolidge. As I recall, quite a bit of the property south of
there was his also. I see an "S Smith" on the 1878, but not on the 1862.
Les is spot on with his directions.

And by the way, thanks for Rebecca's last name. I didn't have anything.

My current dilemma is that I can't find the source for the plat parameters
I'm using for this township. I know it was done in 1969, and presume there
are others for the other townships, but my Googling is not finding it.

For anyone who wants to help, it's "Marion County Public domain land and
Mineral Titles, 1969."

The "old" plats, such as the ".001" mostly have only some of the plats that
had been claimed. But the 1969 map has the original owners, plus
homesteaders and cash entries.

Dang.

Anyway, I'll add Smith for Rebecca on maps from now on. Unfortunately I
already printed out the ones for this trip. Heck, maybe I'll just write it
in. Why not!

Pat

Pat,
So glad that this is being done!!! My Gr. gr. grandparents, John & Rebecca
Smith Barger and her parents, James and Sarah Jennings Smith of course were
in Silverton, Oregon, and I have wanted to "see" where their land was !
Have picture with "Barger" Street. Again, looking forward to seeing this
when in the Silverton area !
