RESOLUTIONS Adopted at a Regular Meeting of Chemeketa Lodge No. 1, I.O.O.F.
WHEREAS, It has pleased our Diving Master to remove from our midst our well
beloved brother, John Zieber, who died on the 21st ult., after a lingering
illness; Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That while we bow with submission to the
will of our Heavenly Father, we cannot but mourn the loss of one so
universally esteemed, and whose memory will be so fondly cherished bythe
brothers of this Lodge. RESOLVED, That we tender our warmest sympathies to
his parents and brothers and sisters, who are thus deprived of his society;
and to his father, our brother, who is called to mourn not only as an
Odd-Fellow but as a parent, we offer that sympathy due to a brother in his
trouble. RESOLVED, That for the widow of our deceased brother, called upon
in the morning of life to mourn so great a loss, we feel the deepest sorrow,
and assure her that in every trial which may beset her pathway, she will
ever find the open palm of every Odd Fellow extended to support and assist
her. RESOLVED, That the members of this Lodge wear the usual badge of
mourning for thirty days, and that a copy of these resolutions be forwarded,
under seal of this Lodge, to the family and to the widow of the deceased
brother. A. J. Riely L. S. Skiff Samuel E. May Oregon Statesman 8 August
