That is the problem, the model one was written by the paranoid people in 
the Federal government.

I had a very brief chat with the state registrar and got somewhat of a 
run-off instead.

Other states balked at it and went the opposite instead, going for more 
open access instead.

The Oregon health authority is more interested in trying to squeeze more 
$ from us. The State Archives is on the opposition.

Bottom line, if we can keep this bill from being scheduled for any 
meeting prior to April 8th, the bill will die. This I found out from the 
legislative liaison person with the Health Care Committee earlier today. 
No actions will be taken on any bill on and after this date cutoff. The 
person said the bill is not popular.
