Denise, you and I would be some sort of half cousins.  E.E. Parrish was married twice--his first Wife Elizabeth Bussey died in WV not too long after my 2nd great grandmother was born.  His second wife was Rebecca Mapel so their children are "halves" in relationship to me.  I haven't filled in all the blanks on his second family.  Linda

I do have one PARRISH descendant.
George Edward Parrish b 28 Sep 1899 Richmond, Oregon; s/o Lucy E Gilliam (1878 OR - 5 Oct 1899 Wheeler Co OR) & George Edward Parrish (1868 OR - 1926 Hood River); grandson of Mary Elizabeth Smith & Edward Evans Parrish Jr. (27 Nov 1837 - 22 Jan 1883) & Francis Marion Gilliam (1847-1929) & Mary Annabell Menefee (1853-1936)

This fine young gentleman had his mother die shortly after his birth and then he served in the military in WW I, dying that that service and is buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery in France.  I am thankful for the Oregon State Archives War Defense Record Set - see http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/pages/exhibits/war/defhist.html

It was within those files that I located the burial place for this fine young gentleman.  Use the Index http://genealogy.state.or.us/ and filter for World War I record type to locate the Defense records.  They are a fantastic resource, when they exist for relatives.
