Dear Oregon Archaeology Listserv Members,
Not sure how many of you have been following the Cape Wind project.
You can read more about it here:
http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091116/NEWS/911160310
I'm wondering if we will have similar issues like this coming up in
regards to coastal projects on the Oregon coast, or elsewhere in the
Pacific Northwest. Please feel free to email me directly, but I would
also love to see a larger conversation about this issue because it
seems like it will be setting a precedent for this administration's
take on cultural resources and the consultation process.
Cheers,
Wendy Ann

What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a
recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to
ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly
accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is
nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character,
than giving our all to a difficult task."
BARACK OBAMA, Inauguration Speech, Jan 20, 2009
