Recent discoveries in Oregon's geologic and fossil record and a
book-signing
event will be featured at the Hatfield Marine Science Center¹s annual
Fossil
Fest scheduled for February 13, 2010. Elizabeth and William Orr, who
have
just completed revisions of two books on Oregon geology and
paleontology,
will not only be on hand to sign the second edition of their book
Oregon
Fossils, but will review what¹s new in the world of geology and
paleontology
and how these new discoveries relate to and impact fossils. For
example,
geologists have just this year discovered a reasonable source for the
volcanic ash of the John Day formation. Mark your calendars now to
come
learn about this and more!
