Attached are two notices regarding upcoming HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response 29 CFR 1910.120) classes. There is no charge to take either of the classes, but participants will be required to pay their own travel expenses.

The first is an 8-hour course that is being offered in Everett on February 27, 2010. The class is intended for citizen volunteers who are interested in assisting with oiled wildlife response operations. A valid 8-hour HAZWOPER certificate is the minimum level of training needed to work with oiled wildlife. Registration information can be found in the attached announcement, and online registration is encouraged. Class size is limited to 50.

The second is a 24-hr Hazmat and Oil Spill Awareness Course for Tribal Resources Officials on March 22-24, 2010 in Richland, Washington. Registration information is listed on the brochure and space is limited.

Please pass these announcement along to your group distribution lists and/or anyone you feel may be interested in attending these classes.

Have a great day!

Allison
