Hello Everyone,
I wanted to remind you that the AOA Research Grant, awarded each year for
up to $500, is due today, February 1st. Grant recipients need not be
members of the Association nor residents of Oregon, but their proposals
must have a focus on Oregon archaeology. Applicants must have a minimum of
a master’s degree in anthropology or related field, or have a sponsor with
these qualifications who is an active participant or advisor in the
project. Also, grant recipients are required to present their research at
an AOA meeting, and are encouraged to publish in the Association’s
Occasional Papers series or in CAHO, the Association’s newsletter. The
grant recipient will be announced at the upcoming NWAC in Pendleton on
March 16, 2012.
If you or anyone you know would like to submit an application, please apply
as soon as possible. I have attached a copy of the grant application.
Also, please note that you may submit it by email to me if you would
prefer, which would give you until midnight tonight to get it turned in. If
you have any questions, please let me know.
Also, please note that the AOA has a new website where you can renew your
membership, keep updated on meetings and workshops, and get more
information about the grant.

Thank you,
