Clackamas County to Receive Boating Facility Grants
 
 Gladstone and Oregon City will have “economic stimulus” happening
within the next month, for two local boat ramps.  The Oregon State
Marine Board approved over 3.2 million in boating facility grants, two
of which are in Clackamas County. 
 The City of Gladstone applied for, and was awarded, a grant to improve
the existing parking and restroom facilities at Meldrum Bar on the
Willamette River.  This grant will provide a new two-stall vault toilet
with concrete ADA accessible sidewalk, will sealcoat the existing
parking lot, provide wheel stops, striping and a circulation pattern to
the parking area and install signs.  The Board approved $92,000 in state
boater funds combined with $3,675 in applicant in-kind contributions for
a project total of $95,675.
 The City of Oregon City applied for, and was awarded, a grant to
improve the Sportcraft Ramp below Willamette Falls.  This grant will
replace an existing two-lane launch ramp, the piles and boarding floats.
 The Board approved $166,255 in state boater funds combined with $87,491
in applicant match, $43,346 in applicant in-kind contributions and
$166,254 in federal Sport Fish Restoration funds from the Oregon
Department of Fish and Wildlife.
