Coos County to Receive Three Boating Facility Grants

	Coos County will receive a financial boost through grants
awarded for three boating access projects with the Oregon Parks and
Recreation Department, Port of Coos Bay and the Port of Bandon.  The
Oregon State Marine Board recently approved over 3.2 million in boating
facility grants, statewide. 
	The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department applied for, and was
awarded a grant to expand the parking at Bullard’s Beach State Park. 
The Board approved $34,500 in state boater funds combined with $11,500
in applicant cash and $5,000 in-kind contributions for a project total
of $51,000.	
           The Port of Coos Bay applied for, and was awarded, a grant
to re-surface and re-stripe the existing boat trailer parking area,
install wheel stops and provide new signage at the Charleston Marina. 
The Board approved $69,750 in state boater funds combined with $20,250
in applicant cash, $750 in applicant in-kind contributions for a project
total of $90,750.
           Lastly, the Port of Bandon applied for, and was awarded a
grant to repair and replace damaged sections of the existing asphalt
parking area at the Port ramp.  The Director approved $9,120 in state
boater funds combined with $1,350 of in-kind contributions for a project
total of $10,470.
