Crook County to Receive Boating Facility Grant

Crook County will receive a financial boost through a grant
awarded to Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The Oregon State
Marine Board recently approved over 3.2 million in boating facility
grants, statewide.
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department applied for, and was
awarded a grant to pave the existing gravel parking lot at Powder House
Cove and to install curbs, add drainage features, striping and
directional signage. Powder House Cove has become a very popular,
heavily used boat launch since it was completed in 2008. The Board
approved $194,625 in state boater funds combined with $64,875 of
applicant cash and $7,500 of in-kind contributions for a project total
of $267,000.
