Public Meeting Tonight on Proposed Rules for Foothills Park Dock

The Oregon State Marine Board is holding a public meeting tonight on proposed rules for a 100 foot slow-no-wake zone around the Lake Oswego Foothills Park dock.  The public meeting is scheduled from 7-9 pm at the City of Lake Oswego, City Council Chambers, 380 "A" Ave. in Lake Oswego.  The public comment period opened December 1 and will end at the closing of tonight's public meeting.
                The proposed rule for the Foothills Park dock is in response to the City of Lake Oswego's request for a variance to the statewide 200-foot slow-no-wake rule.  Due to the nature and width of the Willamette River at mile post 20.5 where the dock is located, the smaller restricted area would interfere less with boats operating in the channel.
