Marine Board Seeks Comments on Proposed Rule for Foster Reservoir

                The Oregon State Marine Board is seeking public comment on a proposed rule to establish a slow no-wake zone within 100 feet of the Edgewater RV Resort and Marina on Foster Lake in Linn County.
A temporary rule was adopted during the 2010 boating season for a 100 foot slow no-wake.  Buoys were placed 100 feet from the wave attenuation device around the marina, Linn County Marine Deputies monitored use patterns throughout the summer, and reported no significant safety issues.  The resort developer and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers support the proposed rule.
A public meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on March 10 at the Sweet Home Senior Center, 880 18th Ave. in Sweet Home.  Written public comment will be accepted February 1, 2011 though the closing of the public meeting on March 10, 2011.
