Marine Board Approves Grant for Hyatt Lake Boat Ramp Improvements

The Oregon State Marine Board approved a grant for boating facility improvements in two locations on Hyatt Lake for the Bureau of Land Management, on June 27 at their quarterly meeting held in Sisters, OR.
The BLM applied for, and received a grant to replace the boat ramps, boarding floats, transient tie-up, and improve the road and parking areas at the Main Campground and Mt. View boat ramps on Hyatt Lake.  The launch sites currently consist of concrete planks that have shifted or have broken.  The existing docks at both locations will be modified and repurposed as mooring docks and new boarding floats will be added to replace them.  The new ramp at Mt. View will have an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant gangway and a path to access the mooring docks.  There will also be parking improvements.
The Board approved $220,000 in state boater funds combined with $3,653 of in-kind contributions, $250,000 in applicant cash for a project total of $473,653.
The Oregon State Marine Board is funded entirely by user fees, and the revenue generated from the fees goes back to boaters in the form of boating facility improvements, law enforcement services, and education and outreach.
