Marine Board Approves Grant for Pumpout and Dump Station on Foster Reservoir

The Oregon State Marine Board approved a grant to purchase and install a new pumpout and dump station at the Edgewater Marina on Foster Reservoir, on June 27 at their quarterly meeting held in Sisters, OR.
The Edgewater Marina applied for, and received a grant for the new pumpout and dump station.  The Board approved $17, 313 in state boater funds, $26,769 of in-kind contributions, $38,173 in applicant cash and $51,938 in federal Clean Vessel Act funds for a project total of $134,193.
The marina is operated under a lease from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and presently consists of 40 boat slips.  The lease allows the Edgewater Marina to expand to 148 total slips and the pumpout/dump station is a component of the authorized expansion.
The Oregon State Marine Board is funded entirely by user fees, and the revenue generated from the fees goes back to boaters in the form of boating facility improvements, law enforcement services, and education and outreach.
