Marine Board Approves Grant for Floating Restroom on Timothy Lake

               The Oregon State Marine Board approved a grant to purchase and install a floating restroom on Timothy Lake, on June 27 at their quarterly meeting held in Sisters, OR.
Clackamas County applied for, and received a grant for a floating restroom, trailer and anchoring system.
The Board approved $1,000 of in-kind contributions, $32,500 in applicant cash from Portland General Electric and $97,500 in federal Clean Vessel Act funds for a project total of $131,000.
PGE is contributing the non-federal share to match the federal Clean Vessel Act funds and will maintain the unit under agreement with Clackamas County.  The Forest Service will enter into a three-party agreement in order to formally allow the restroom to reside on national forest property.
The Oregon State Marine Board is funded entirely by user fees, and the revenue generated from the fees goes back to boaters in the form of boating facility improvements, law enforcement services, and education and outreach.
