Marine Board to Meet January 12 at the Portland Expo Center

               The Oregon State Marine Board will meet on January 12 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Portland Expo Center for their quarterly meeting in conjunction with the Portland Boat Show.  The public is invited to attend.
            The Board will be considering the following agenda items:

*       Consider Adopt-A-River program rules to identify  protocols and the development of best management practices guiding program activities.

*       Consider adopting Aquatic Invasive Species program rules that clarify the permit presentation requirement remove violation language and adopt new rule language in response to HB 3399 to establish procedures for inspections of recreational and commercial watercraft for the presence of aquatic invasive species at check stations.

*       Consider a request to initiate rulemaking for an exclusion zone along with a 5 mph slow-no-wake zone within the construction area for the Sellwood Bridge Project from December 2011 through 2015.

*       Consider a request to initiate rulemaking in the Holgate Channel as it relates to slow-no-wake zones and commercial boat exemptions.

*       Consider a boating facilities grant for the International Port of Coos Bay, Charleston Marina transient tie-up.
