Oregon Guide Advisory Committee to Meet April 25

The Oregon State Marine Board's Guide Advisory Committee will meet at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, via teleconference. This meeting is a follow-up to the February meeting and will discuss issues related to the Oregon State Marine Board Outfitter & Guide Program.
The Guide Advisory Committee is defined in statute to "provide advice to the board on various matters regarding the implementation" of outfitter and guide laws and rules. The committee advised on development of rule changes adopted by the Marine Board in October 2011.
The agenda will include discussion and direction, as appropriate, on the following issues:

*       Guide Advisory Committee member selection as defined in statute.

*       Application of the Outfitter & Guide discipline process adopted in 2011.

*       Charter boat program review and update, and charter captain outreach efforts.

*       Registration requirement for guides operating powerboats.
Interested members of the public may participate in the meeting which will be based at the Marine Board office, 435 Commercial St NE, Suite 400, in Salem. An opportunity for public comment will be provided at 6 p.m. Contact Randy Henry at (503) 378-2611 for additional information.
