Oregon Guide Advisory Committee to Meet February 6

The Oregon State Marine Board's Guide Advisory Committee (GAC) will meet at 8 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, at the Portland Expo Center, 2060 N. Marine Drive in Portland, in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen's Show.  The meeting will be held in room 204 in D-Hall.
The GAC, in accordance with ORS 704.525 to provides "advice to the board on various matters regarding the implementation of this chapter." Re-established in 2010, the GAC, represents outfitters and guides from the across the state and has developed numerous changes and recommended updates to the administrative rules and statutes governing the Outfitter & Guide (O&G) and the Oregon Charter Boat Programs.
The agenda includes the following topics:

*       Review of administrative Rules adopted in January

*       O & G / Charter registration update for 2014

*       Temporary Rule & discussion regarding large commercial whitewater rafts

*       Non-resident controlled hunt permit rule discussion

*       Law Enforcement Partnership / Inspection Day Report

*       GAC group charter agreement discussion and handout

*       Advisory committee nominations / appointment timeline / charter captain membership

*       Subcommittee Designation for Motorboat Certification (as per HB 2039)

*       General Discussion

*       Determine next meeting and location
