Marine Board Convening Advisory Committee Meetings for Salvaged Vessels and Slow-No Wake

              The Oregon State Marine Board will be convening two separate rulemaking advisory committee meetings in the coming weeks to gather input and recommendations on improving language for existing administrative rules.
The Salvaged Vessel Subaccount Advisory Committee will meet on February 4, from 10 am to 12 pm. This committee will review the procedures for ports, law enforcement, local governments and other public bodies to receive reimbursement from the Marine Board for the removal and disposal of derelict and abandoned vessels.  The Slow -No Wake Advisory Committee will meet on February 11, from 10 am to 12 pm, and will review a proposed rule to define "slow-no wake" speed. Both meetings will be held at the Marine Board office, 435 Commercial Street NE, in Salem.
As part of the rulemaking process, the agency appoints knowledgeable people from the boating public and stakeholder organizations to serve as advisory committee members who assist in the development of rules and advise the agency on any potential fiscal impacts to state agencies, local governments, and members of the public or small businesses. The public is invited to attend these meetings; however participation is limited to appointed committee members.
