Temporary Closure on Clackamas River at Oregon City Trolley Bridge at RM 0.8

[cid:image004.jpg at 01CF3DE6.842EB660]The Marine Board adopted a temporary rule closing a segment of the Clackamas River to boats due to the extreme hazard caused by the emergency removal operations of the Trolley Bridge at River Mile (RM) .8 in Oregon City.
The Trolley Bridge is an abandoned remnant of a trolley line operated by the now-defunct Portland Traction Company. In the early 20th century it connected Oregon City with Portland. Union Pacific is working on the removal of the remainder of the bridge.
Motorized boats are prohibited from operating on the Clackamas River between the mouth of the Oregon City Lagoon at RM 0.35 and the I-205 Bridge at RM 1.45.  All non-motorized watercraft are prohibited from operating on the Clackamas River from the mouth of the Oregon City Lagoon at RM 0.35 to the boat ramp at Riverside Park at RM 3.15.​​
The temporary rule will be suspended when the removal operations are complete and boating is considered safe.
