Important PPDB reminders regarding the January 2013 COLA implementation

Please continue to use the current online rates (which DO NOT reflect the COLA adjustment) when processing hires or pay changes in PPDB until after we have implemented the COLA. The COLA is scheduled to implement the evening of January 10, 2013 for the following reprs:

NOTE: If you have already processed terminations with effective dates in January or other actions and applied the COLA effective 01/01/13, you must go back and manually place a freeze code of 'A' on that record to bypass the automated COLA or the employee will receive a second COLA.

Temporary employees (REPR code XAO) SEIU: The COLA implementation will update both current SEIU temporary in addition to terminated SEUI temporary employees with effective dates in January. For those temporary employees which you have already applied the COLA you must be sure to review those employees the day after the COLA is implemented and correct the record if the COLA was applied again.

Temporaries other than SEIU: If you are unsure as to whether any non-SEIU represented temporary employees should receive the COLA, please check with your agency Human Resource office or refer to the applicable contract or policy.

Reports: We will send out reports within a few days of the implementation. You should review these reports to identify and make needed adjustments to differential amounts.

Personnel Actions (PA) Printing:  Agencies have the option to choose if they want to receive a printed personnel action on mass updates such as this COLA.

You can change your printing options by going to PBAG and entering your agency number. Underneath the letter "M" in the alphabet line you can enter either of the following:

Y or Blank = YES (personnel actions will print on mass updates)
N = NO (personnel actions will not print on mass updates)

This code must be on the agency table the day before the mass update is processed.

Example: PBAG Screen - Under the letter M the "N" is entered meaning NO personnel actions will print for mass updates.
