Subject:              ACTION REQUIRED - Employees on Leave Without Pay and ACA


As indicated at the ACA presentations CHRO has created template letters for those employees who are currently on or going out on Leave Without Pay.

Your agency should run a report to identify employees who:


*         Have worked 1,560 hours during the Measurement Period (November 1. 2013 - October 31, 2014) AND

*         Are on or going on Leave Without Pay


Any employee who fits the criteria above is in a current Stability Period and will need to have their active PEBB benefits reinstated or continued with the agency paying its portion of the premium effective January 1. 2015.  Attached you will find the template letter Important Health Benefits Information Employees on LWOP and the Insurance Self Pay Payroll Letter.  It is the agency's responsibility to send both letters to the affected employees CHRO is unable to process the letters for your agency. If you have any employee who is in LWOP status and has not worked for the State of Oregon for at least one year please give CHRO a call.

In the future please make sure to provide employees who are in a current Stability Period and going out on LWOP both letters, and place copies in the Personnel File. It is important to remember  not turn off their active benefits.
