Subject: HRIS Project Update -IT & Payroll SME Added

The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Project Team is pleased to announce the addition of three new team members:

Gina Beaman is joining the business team to assist with identifying and resolving the complexities and gaps between the future HRIS system and our current statewide legacy payroll system (OSPA). Gina has 17 years of Oregon state government experience, including ten years of service at the Department of Administrative Services. Gina has prior experience with the Water Resources Department and Land Use Board of Appeals. For the HRIS Project, Gina will apply her payroll expertise to help ensure payroll functions are operational at go-live and beyond. Gina will consult and provide direction regarding statewide payroll transaction processing. Gina joins the business team full time on rotation from DAS in February. Gina joins 7 existing subject matter experts (SMEs) on the business team of the HRIS project. Each SME leads efforts in their respective area(s) of expertise.

Note: The HRIS Project does not include replacing OSPA, however the new HR system will have a live interface feeding vital payroll information over to OSPA. In addition the vendor has proposed implementing a payroll module to run parallel to our current system to ensure optimum functionality. The two systems are expected to be connected and not require duplicate entry of information.

Barbara Mahnu is joining the technical team to assist with the conversion and interface efforts as they relate to PPDB. Barbara brings more than two decades of business systems analysis and technical writing experience within the private and public sector to the HRIS Project. Barbara has previously served Oregon state government for five years between the Department of Administrative Services, the Department of Consumer and Business Services, and the Department of Human Services/Oregon Health Authority. Barbara joined the team full time in January.

Nora Thompson is joining the technical team to assist with the conversion and interface efforts as they relate to payroll. Nora has over 20 years of programming, systems analysis, and software consulting experience, including over ten years of coding, testing, and support for mainframe and client-server applications with the Oregon Department of Transportation. Nora joined the team full time in January.

Barbara and Nora join Roger Dosier on the technical transition team of the HRIS project. They will work closely with the existing Oregon state payroll application and position and personnel database teams to provide expertise during the project transition.
