This is a reminder to verify all direct deposit change requests.  See below our eNews from July about this.

Most importantly you should verify the authenticity of email requests.  At minimum you should verify with the employee using their state email address or reaching out to them directly.

Payroll professionals,

OSPS has been made aware of an outside source attempting to change the ACH banking information for a few employees.

Here are some suggestions to reduce the risk of others gaining access to that sensitive banking information.


-          Workday - employees can update their direct deposit information in Workday

-          Have employees drop off the paper form at a secure or trustworthy location

-          Remind employees not to email the form

-          Fax the form into your payroll office/contact

If you do receive a completed form in an email or fax, double check with the employee to confirm the intended change, especially if the sender did not use a @state.or.us or @oregon.gov email address.
