Subject: [DAS_Centralized_PERS_Services_Team] Change in process: Paper status check requests

CPERS Customers,

Beginning Monday, May 17, 2021, DAS has authorized PERS to return the faxed status check form directly back to the state agency that requested the status check. State agencies must include their contact information on every form so PERS knows who to return the form to. PERS will ensure the requesting agency employee is authorized by DAS CPERS to receive the status check. DAS CPERS will continue to provide updates to the authorized contact list to PERS. State agencies cannot request that PERS update contacts directly. If DAS CPERS needs a copy of the status check form, DAS will request the copy from the agency.

DAS CPERS will continue to be the primary point of contact for resolving challenges encountered during the status check process, such as any SSN/name discrepancies. If any issues arise during the status check process, please contact your DAS CPERS Analyst for resolution.

The only process that is changing is the paper status check request process. All other processes will remain the same. DAS CPERS remains the contact for agencies and PERS. Please let me know if you have any questions.

An updated status check form and process outline may be found here: https://www.oregon.gov/das/Financial/Payroll/Pages/cpers.aspx
