[Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application]

Payroll professionals,

OSPS has been made aware of an outside source successfully changing the ACH banking information for an employee.

Here are some suggestions to reduce the risk of others gaining access to that sensitive banking information.


  *   Workday - employees can update their direct deposit information in Workday.  This is the most secure and recommended way for employees to update their banking information.
  *   Have employees drop off the paper form at a secure or trustworthy location
  *   Remind employees not to email the form
  *   Independently contact the EE with an established number in WD to verify the attempted change, especially if the sender did not use a @state.or.us or @oregon.gov email address
  *   Once you've established contact with your EE, have them fax the form into your payroll office/contact
  *   The agency could potentially be liable for the funds if steps are not taken to ensure validation
