Hello Payroll Professionals,

It was brought to our attention today that our payment notification form ( understand the Form No. OSPS.99.24) has not been updated and still indicates the use of personal checks.

With ¼ of our resources already dedicated to the payroll project, the remaining team is working to keep our legacy system running and preparing for go live. After our first quarterly reporting (April 2023) has ended, we will work to update every and all forms to match what our new WD Payroll processes will be. Until then, I apologize for any outdated information that may reside on them. This includes cash payments for under a dollar on Form No. OSPS.99.24.

Cash payments are considered in the same category as personal checks and need to be processed as a BT.

One of our biggest issues for changing this process was the lost or misrouted (delayed) requests because items were sent in the mail. This is even more true for cash sent via shuttle because lost (separated/misrouted) cash is nearly impossible to route back to us.

Thank you for your understanding,

Jason

Subject: OSPS E-News ~ balance transfers only for payroll

Hello Payroll Professionals,

On Monday 8/15/22, OSPS will be transitioning to balance transfers (BT) only. All employee checks will need to be written to the agency they work for. The agency will then send us a BT to complete the process to clear the net negative.

Changing this process reduces lost checks in the mail, greatly increases the speed of clearing the net pay negative off the system, and reduces the number of checks returned for NSF. At the same time, it puts a lot of options back in the agencies hands for how to take care of their employee and the way they accept payments from them.

BTs are a familiar process for every payroll shop, but I am more than happy to take any questions you may have.

Thanks,
