OSPS E-News ~ 2023 W-4 Exempt Status Update

[Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application]

Payroll partners,



DAS Workday Payroll updated employees with a 2023 filing status of Exempt to a 2024 filing status of Single or Single and zero as of last Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. This was done since Federal and the State of Oregon have a due date of February 15, 2024, for employees' to file a new W-4. There are four lists uploaded to Workday Drive: Payroll Partner Resources>2024>Taxes:

*        2024 Federal W-4 Exempt Status Change

*        2024 State W-4 Exempt Status Change

*        2024 Other States W-4 Status Change

*        Out of State W-4 Exemption Filing Requirements

The Federal and State files show the employees that were updated in Workday.  The 'Other States' list does not have anyone listed and 'Filing Requirements' for other states is informational only. Attached is a sample email that Agency Payroll Partners can use to reach out to employees to let them know of this change.  Employees would need to update their W-4 by Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, to be effective for the March 1, 2023, payslip.
