The Pupil Transportation team is seeking stakeholders to collaborate with ODE during Summer 2017 focusing on the following three project areas:

Maintenance Manual Updates:  This workgroup will focus on updating the Annual Inspection and Maintenance Manual, last updated in 2007.  Updates will be made for updated technology on school buses and will compare to national commercial vehicle standards.  Format of the manual and associated paperwork will also be reviewed.  Workgroup may also be asked to assist with developing an evaluation tool to use for people seeking a new annual inspection certificate and if an evaluation should be done for current certified inspectors.

Supervisor Certificate:  This workgroup will work on outlining the curriculum for the supervisor certificate as required by rule, including what other certifications count toward completion of this training.  Workgroup may be asked to develop some or all of the classes in the associated curriculum.

Transportation Evaluation Tool:  This workgroup will work on creating an evaluation tool for ODE to use when auditing transportation entities.  The goal is to be able to rate transportation entities based on the tool and use the tool to help ensure resources are allocated in the best way possible when conducting an audit.
