[Reforma_or] Gitlitz/Caldecott addendum

Gitlitz, Deborah gitlitz at wilsonvillelibrary.org
Tue Mar 10 12:46:41 PDT 2020

…Aaand please don’t use my unique ALA ballot login credentials, that I accidentally forwarded to the whole state in my enthusiasm. Whoops. Criminy.

With chagrin,
Deborah

You are cordially invited to participate in a webinar on April 3, 1-2:15 EST to learn about how Providence Public Library, Chicago Public Library, and Los Angeles Public Library have partnered on a project, “Propagating Promising Practices”, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to implement technology-enabled practices to support adults with limited literacy, technology and/or English skills. Learn how the three practices – learning circles, Learning Lounges, and mobile learning are helping public libraries to be effective and welcoming hubs for lifelong learning, digital inclusion, and economic empowerment.

Subject: [Reforma_or] Gitlitz (Libros for Oregon) is Caldecott Committee candidate
Hola Oregon Reformista friends and colleagues!

I am excited to share that I am a candidate for the 2021 Caldecott Committee. As a longtime bilingual outreach librarian, active member of REFORMA Oregon and the founder of Libros for Oregon<https://librosfororegon.wixsite.com/home/outreach> (among other experiences and credentials; I’ve included my official candidate summary below), I hope to serve our profession by bringing a useful perspective to this Award committee.

If you are a member in good standing of ALSC* (ALA’s Association for Library Service to Children), I would be honored if you would consider voting for me to be a member of the 2021 Caldecott Award Selection Committee.

Voting is open from now until April 1 at 11:59 pm, Central Time.
Please feel free to ask me questions or to share this information.
Exciting times!

Saludos cordiales,
Deborah
