RE:  COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS/UPDATES

As I promised earlier I plan to  share updates on the Common Core with you as they cross my desk.

ODE is working on ensuring the full implementation of these standards, and I know that many of your districts are already involved in ongoing planning both independently and some of you in collaboration with the Office of Educational Improvement and Innovation. I also know that many of you are attending regional professional development hosted by COSA to support your plans for full implementation. To support this work and to ensure that you are linked to the most current information, ODE has developed a website where you will find posted all critical information on the topic of the Common Core State Standards.

Updates and information are posted regularly to http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=2860  Keep this link as one of your favorites and visit the  "Communication" tab frequently. The site is easy to browse for updates and you will find memos and one-pagers designed to keep you apprised.

In addition to drawing your attention to this link, I will continue to send you other documents and updates as they come to my attention.
