[Self-Management_OR] Caregiver attendance for Living Well and State Credit

I have had this come up often recently. Caregivers can benefit from attending Living Well with Chronic Conditions, but due them having to work, they cannot work without pay, nor will they be paid by insurance or self-pay.

When they have tried to ask for continuing education credits for taking the 6-wk course, the State of Oregon says 'no'. So there is a gap here we might fill. Offering CE for caregivers, then they have added a level of care and communication with those they care for and are also gaining CE credit which is VERY HARD to come by in these counties.

I am familiar with the State of OR being difficult approving CE, but if insurance is paying participants (AllCare and WOAH do in Curry County) and there is a solid program and course outline provided under a Stanford University Licensed course, there might be a collaborative effort worth pursuing.

It may mean Stanford Leaders have to be 'approved Providers' for the State to approve the course, but this is a win-win for the Program, the participant and the education of the caregivers.

Can you help me with this idea?
