[Tag-Info] OUS/CTY Robotics Day for TAG students in grades7-10 at PSU April 4, 2009

Greetings, friends -

The Oregon University System and Johns Hopkins University's Center For Talented Youth are collaborating to bring a day of hands-on robotics to the PSU campus on Saturday, April 4, 2009 (the day after the Northwest Science Expo) from 9:00 - 4:00. Faculty and students from OSU, PSU, and EOU as well as experts from industry will be on hand to lead small-group sessions. The content and pace will be targeted towards high-achieving students. Students are not required to be members of the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) to attend; students must be accompanied by an adult.

Please see the attached flyer for more information and links, including the link to register with Johns Hopkins. Please circulate this information with anyone who might be interested. Registration closes 2:00 pm Pacific (5:00 Eastern) on Monday, March 30. Please contact Johns Hopkins via web or phone to register.

There are a few slots for reaching out to underserved students for whom the cost is a barrier; please contact Jo Oshiro directly via jo_oshiro at ous.edu<mailto:jo_oshiro at ous.edu> or 503.821.1139 if you have a candidate for those slots, whether or not that student is formally identified as TAG as long as a teacher or other educator feels they are ready to work at a higher level.
