The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives has a job opening for a Regional Consultant!

Library Administrator Regional - KDLA: This position works directly with public library staff and trustees at the local level to promote library development throughout one of four regions in Kentucky. Through site visits, attendance at board meetings and meetings for specific groups of librarians (i.e. directors, youth services, bookmobile/outreach, etc.), this position will provide assistance in a number of essential areas, including strategic planning, state and federal legislation, facilities construction, selection and hiring of library directors and staff, budget preparation, policy and procedure development, and community relations. This position will work in collaboration with library directors to analyze the services the library currently provides and identify areas for improvement for libraries within the geographical region and will perform other duties as assigned.

This position can be located in any of the following counties in the East Region: Bell, Breathitt, Clark, Clay, Elliott, Estill, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Madison, Magoffin, Martin, Menifee, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Powell, Rockcastle, Whitley and Wolfe.

Type of Position: Full-time
Possible Desk Coverage: Weekdays

Salary: (MIN-MID) $38,770.08 - $51,361.20 yearly at 37.5 hour work week

Qualifications/Experience:
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in Library Science.
EXPERIENCE: Must have two years of professional library experience.

Additional Comments:
Upon appointment, employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver's license and required to drive a licensed vehicle. This status may be necessary for the length of time in this class. If this is necessary it will be listed in the specific position description for that position. Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check. Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.
