“Architectural Heritage Center kicks off Annual Juried Art
Exhibition”

Portland, ORE ― On November 5, the Architectural Heritage Center
will host the opening reception of its annual juried art exhibit.
The title of this year’s exhibit is “Fostering Harmony: The
Symbiotic Relationship of Architecture and Nature.”

The free, public reception will announce the winners of the jury’s
awards and give members of the public the opportunity to vote on a
“Viewer’s Choice” award. Artists from around the northwest
submitted paintings, sculpture and other mixed works to the exhibit,
which runs through the month of December.
In the weeks following the reception, the AHC will partner with
several selected artists to present a series of “Community
Conversations,” which will give artists and the public additional
opportunities to explore their work as it relates to the theme of the
exhibit.
Proceeds and sales from the exhibit benefit the artists and the
AHC’s educational programs, advocacy efforts and collections
stewardship.
The Architectural Heritage Center is located at 701 SE Grand Avenue
in Portland. More information about “Fostering Harmony” and other
AHC programs is available at http://www.visitahc.org/content/call-
artists-2010.
The Architectural Heritage Center is a non-profit resource center for
historic preservation located in Portland, Oregon. Owned and operated
by the Bosco-Milligan Foundation, The AHC hosts dozens of programs,
workshops, and exhibits each year, helping people appreciate, restore
and maintain vintage homes, buildings, and neighborhoods. We are also
caretakers of one of the largest collections of architectural
artifacts in the United States.
