ANNUAL COUNSELING CONFERENCE



Registration is open for the Oregon Counseling Association's annual fall conference! This year it's held in the heart of downtown Portland at Portland State University on Saturday Oct. 4 and Sunday Oct. 5. Twelve CEs are available and early bird discounts are ending soon (August 15!).



Saturday's program is a full day workshop by keynote speaker Susan M.

Pollak, MTS, EdD, who is visiting from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pollak is the president of the Institute of Meditation and Psychotherapy, and a premier author and speaker on the neurobiology of mindfulness and compassion. Her upcoming book Sitting Together is the first hands-on guide to mindfulness-based psychotherapy. She has been an instructor at Harvard Medical School for the past 20 years.



Sunday's program covers topics like mindfulness, the DSM-5, ethics, sexual behavior & the internet, clinical supervision, emotion-focused individual therapy, spirituality, acceptance and commitment therapy, hoarding disorder & harm reduction, yoga for anxiety, cultural trauma and more.
