I use the BLM site all the time for Midwest land but I guess I had a "brain
cramp" when it came to Oregon.

I'm sure the two records you found are the same family I am researching,
however because I have a death date for Charles F. in 1883, I'm wondering if
the second record might be a son and mother.  Looks like a census search is
in order.

The other question is, if they did arrive in Oregon in 1852, where were they
between then and 1866?
