Sorry Cecil:  C 54 was a DC 4, the C 118 Was a DC6. Flew thousands of miles in both of them.  Actually the C118 alto had the Seats facing aft.

Well, I've never been in a Typhoon---But I have Flown trhough a Hurricane off the East Coast of the US. in aC 54 (DC 4) at about 8000ft.  The Navigator was air Sick.  I had taken Sea Sick Meds and Slept through the  whole thng.
