I had a 28 ft Carver until just recently. In Puget Sound, WA. One day we were just south of Seattle doing abt 13 knots when we got caught in a Storm.
Now I know that 8 ft Seas don't seem like much to you Navy types, but 8 ft Seas in a 28 foot single engine power boat are deadly. especially with the wiered and Strong Currents of Puget Sound. I was full left to full right for 1 hour and very close to broaching twice. I may not be Navy but I sure learned some leasons in that Carver.

That's exactly what I was saying. You guys don't sit and wait for some to come out and take care of you!

On the ship you had to fend for yourselves. You didn't sit on your fanny and wait for someone to come and "take care" of you!!

I afraid you are very wrong there Ray We Sailors stick together like glue we help each other out as much as we can possibly do. In bad or good we are always there to help each other.
