[or-roots] another "mystery" question

Carol,
I have some similar photos involving my grandmother (Della Winifred
Gerking, b. 1898) as part of groups of girls dressed all in white. In
most of the photos the dresses appear nurse-like, but in one photo the
dress is much softer in appearance. There's also a photo of a large
group marching down a city street with all the buildings draped in
bunting, but there's no identification of the city and no one I
recognize as a family member. Thank you for making the possible
connection with WW1 -- I'd not thought of that, and it would make sense.
For the nurse-like photos I'd thought of the possibility of something
like the Candy Stripers of our youth, but now wonder if there was some
kind of WW1 support organization for young girls/ladies.I guess these
mysteries are what makes genealogy so much fun!
