My 93 year old father remembers Buttermilk Corner and the one night of the week that you could drink as much buttermilk as you wanted. One night his brother-in-law Clinton Fletcher did just that. It was a night that they all remembered but Fletcher wished they would all forget it!
He also commented on the Weatherly Ice Cream building in 11th and Belmont. In the 1930's one could get free skim milk from the faucet that was on the outside of the building. He thinks that it was probably a bit higher in fat content than the skim milk we know of today.
